BQ Sqwad AI (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is operated by BQ Sqwad Technologies. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share and protect information when you use the BQ Sqwad AI website, mobile progressive web application (PWA), Android application and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

By using the Services you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: name, email address, authentication provider identity and profile details you provide when you sign up or update your profile.
• AI interactions: text prompts, voice transcripts, camera frames and the responses generated by the assistant. These are stored so you can review your conversation history and so the assistant can maintain context within a session.
• Files and uploads: images, documents, audio clips and video files you upload for analysis, generation, editing or translation. We process these only to provide the feature you requested.
• Permissions and device data: when you grant access, we may use the microphone for voice input, the camera for live vision or video generation, and device capabilities such as flashlight, brightness or location for the requested action. Location and hardware controls are only used after explicit permission and, where applicable, confirmation.
• Usage and device information: app interactions, feature usage, crash logs, device type, operating system version and anonymised IP address. This helps us improve reliability and performance.

We use your information to:

• Provide, operate and maintain the Services;
• Generate AI responses and creative outputs such as text, images, video and audio;
• Process voice, camera and device-action requests you explicitly initiate;
• Personalise your experience when you opt into memory or preferences;
• Manage your account, credits, subscriptions and payments;
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents;
• Improve product quality, fix bugs and develop new features using aggregated or anonymised data;
• Communicate with you about your account, updates or support requests.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your content to train third-party AI models unless you have explicitly opted into a research or feedback program.

BQ Sqwad AI requests access to device capabilities only when a feature requires them. You can deny any permission and continue using features that do not depend on it.

• Microphone: used for voice chat and dictation. Audio is processed to generate transcripts and is not retained longer than needed for the requested feature unless you choose to save a recording.
• Camera: used for live visual assistance and photo/video uploads. Camera frames are processed for the AI response and are not stored unless you explicitly save the resulting content.
• Device actions: actions such as adjusting brightness, toggling the flashlight, opening maps or initiating a call are only executed after your confirmation. We do not access contacts, messages or call logs without your explicit instruction.

You can revoke any permission at any time through your device or browser settings.

We use Firebase and related Google Cloud services for authentication, secure data storage, real-time synchronisation, push notifications and application analytics. Firebase processes data in accordance with the Google Cloud and Firebase terms of service and privacy policies. Data is stored in encrypted form in transit and at rest. Firebase Authentication may share your email address with us for account management purposes.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how users interact with the Services. Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, session duration, device category and anonymised IP address. This data is aggregated and used to improve user experience. You can control analytics tracking through your browser or device settings and by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

We partner with Paystack to process payments for subscriptions and credit purchases. When you make a payment:

• Payment details such as card numbers, CVV and PIN are collected directly by Paystack and never stored on our servers.
• We store a record of the transaction, plan or credit tier purchased, amount, currency, status and timestamp for billing, support and accounting purposes.
• Saved card authorisation tokens are managed by Paystack; we only retain a reference token required to process recurring charges you have authorised.

Paystack’s privacy policy governs the information you provide through their checkout interface.

To generate AI responses, images, video, audio and translations, we send relevant prompts and context to vetted AI providers. These providers act as data processors and are contractually prohibited from using your content to train their models or retain it beyond the processing session. The default assistant uses OpenAI models; other creative features may route to specialised video, avatar, image or speech providers as needed.

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and comply with applicable legal obligations.

• Account data: retained while your account is active.
• AI conversations and uploads: retained according to your account settings and storage limits until you delete them or your account.
• Payment records: retained for accounting, tax and legal compliance periods.
• Analytics and logs: retained in aggregated or pseudonymised form for up to 26 months, then deleted or anonymised.

Deleted content is removed from active systems and from backups on our standard backup rotation schedule.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• Delete your account and associated data;
• Export your data in a machine-readable format;
• Object to or restrict certain processing activities;
• Withdraw consent for optional features such as memory or analytics.

BQ Sqwad AI is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without parental consent, contact us at hello@bqsqwadai.com and we will delete the information promptly.

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), encrypted storage, access controls, audit logging and regular security reviews. No system is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong password and keep your credentials confidential.

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. This policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service you interact with, including payment processors, authentication providers, cloud hosts and AI model providers.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including countries that may not have the same data-protection laws. When we do so, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions to protect your information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before taking effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the revised policy.
