How the assistant works
How AI chat works
Type a question or a task and the reply streams back as it is generated, so you start reading immediately. The assistant keeps the thread of the conversation, so follow-ups like “make that shorter” or “now translate it” work without repeating yourself.
How voice works
Dictation records what you say, shows the transcript for editing, then sends it. Live voice mode is continuous: it detects when you stop speaking, answers out loud in short conversational replies, and goes quiet the moment you talk over it.
How memory works
With memory enabled, the assistant stores useful facts you share — your projects, preferences, ongoing plans — and uses them in later conversations. It stays reviewable and erasable, and stays off until you allow it.

Privacy and permissions
Memory, microphone, camera, location and device actions are separate permissions. Each is requested when it is first needed, each can be refused, and refusing one does not stop the rest of the assistant from working. Device actions always ask for confirmation before they run, and the assistant tells you plainly when something your device does not support cannot be done.
